Former world number four, double Olympian and Commonwealth champion Chris Adcock is launching a new training series in partnership with Central Sports and centralsports.co.uk.
As one half of mixed doubles ‘golden couple’ with wife Gabby, Chris Adcock retired from the game in 2021 after an England career spanning fifteen years that saw him win double gold in the Commonwealth Games and European Championships, appear in two Olympics and win silver and bronze in the World Championships, as well as winning BWF World Tour Final in Dubai. At their height, the Adcocks were ranked number four in the world.
Now, working in partnership with Central Sports and centralsports.co.uk, Chris will be sharing the training tips and techniques that helped him reach the heights of the sport. “Chris is simply one of the best badminton players Britain has produced,” said Wai Lim, director of badminton at Central Sports, the UK’s leading online badminton retailer. “Together with Gabby he had a huge impact on the sport in Britain and also beat the very best on court on the world’s biggest stages. It’s been a fascinating process discovering what makes him tick and we can’t wait to share the content on our channels.”
The first batch of content is launched next week, starting with preparation and kit, before Chris shares technique advice on key shots. It will be shared across Central Sports channels, including YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. “I'm really excited to be partnering with the home of badminton, Central Sports,” said Chris Adcock. “And together we will be bringing you lots of tips, tricks and also things I learnt during my career that I think can help lots of badminton lovers out there.”
