Choosing an advanced racket

At this level the shaft is usually stiff or extra stiff, which gives control and a fast snap but asks for good timing. Head-heavy frames suit attacking singles; head-light frames suit fast front-court doubles. Compare 3U and 4U versions, or use the racket finder. Still developing? See intermediate badminton rackets.

Advanced badminton racket FAQs

Is an advanced racket right for me?

If you generate good racket-head speed and play competitive league or tournament badminton, a stiff advanced frame will reward you. If shots feel heavy or your shoulder tires, a medium-stiff intermediate racket is the better choice.
